Learn MoreAlberta Grains invests approximately $5 million of check-off dollars in research annually, including yearly contributions to breeding programs and regional and national research projects, scholarships, and sponsorships. The main purpose of this investment is to provide tools to our grain producers to enhance crop production sustainability and profitability. Our mandate is to ensure our producers are equipped with the most advanced production technologies and strategies to deal with ongoing and upcoming grain production challenges.
Connie Matson, Delegate Region 3
Alberta Grains is committed to research that enables Alberta farmers to continue to be leaders in the production of top-quality wheat and barley that is desired by both local consumers and worldwide. Research dollars spent provide Alberta producers with the information needed for making decisions to deal with the everchanging challenges, increase yield potential and improve profitability. I'm proud of the research work being done with the collaboration of industry partners and to be part of the team guiding where research dollars are spent that offer the best value for our producers now and for future generations.
