Alberta Grains is a member of the Ag Transport Coalition ATC, a collaboration between agricultural associations dedicated to improving the competitiveness of the agricultural supply chain.
Recent industry reports have highlighted the ongoing deficiencies in rail service by both Class 1 railway to meet shipper demand, is posing mounting concern for farmers and the agricultural industry at large. Persistent backlogs and delays are preventing Canadian grain vessels to load and depart impacting shipments from reaching international buyers in a timely fashion -ultimately- jeopardizing market access and reliability. Without predictable and reliable rail service, Canada’s ability to compete globally is at risk, potentially damaging our nation’s reputation as a dependable grain exporter if we don't meet our customers expectations.
