Seed Regulatory Modernization Consultation

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) conducted a Winter 2024 consultation for Seed Regulatory Modernization. Reasons for updating the Seed Regulations include reducing complexity and to better respond to technological advancement in this field. Alberta Grains has submitted a response under the guidance of our directors and delegates. The commission's focus is to prioritize the removal of regulatory burdens for the adoption of new seed varieties.
