Province of Manitoba Invests In Global Agriculture Technology Exchange (GATE)

On April 10, 2025 Cereals Canada announced that it has received $13 million in funding support for the Global Agriculture Technology Exchange (Gate). This investment from the Province of Manitoba bring the total raised for Gate to $31.5 million.

Cereals Canada’s Gate initiative aims to establish a cutting-edge facility that will drive market access, innovation, and development within Canada’s cereals sector. This hub will continue to focus on research, technical support, and fostering global partnerships to strengthen Canada’s position as a leader in agricultural exports. Alberta Grains believes Gate will benefit farmers by improving access to global markets, supporting advancements in technology, and enhancing the competitiveness of Canadian cereals on the world stage.

Alberta Grains is a member of Cereals Canada with two representatives on their board amongst other cereal grains value chain members that Cereals Canada works at the direction of. Cereals Canada unites farmers, exporters, developers, and processors to deliver expert technical information and support market development. Alberta Grains, together with other farm organizations across the prairies, made a funding commitment to Gate of $4 million to be dispersed as project milestones are established and achieved.
